American Hostage

American Hostage This is a 8 part podcast about a hostage taken at gunpoint in 1978. The perpetrator, Tony Kiritsis, takes a banker hostage because of his belief that he had been cheated. Tony starts off by demanding air time on a radio station that is hosted by Indianapolis's most popular newscaster, Fred Heckman. Before long, Fred is now part of the story and acts as a negotiator. Tony then takes it a step further and demands live TV coverage on all  3 major networks. Story will keep you on the edge of your seat. 4 out of 4 stars

The Coldest Case in Laramie from Serial

The coldest case in Laramie is a podcast about a murder 30 years prior and narrated by a New York times journalist who was in high school at the time. The podcast tells the story of bad police work, faulty memories and creepy suspects. I can't rate this 4 stars because I thought the recording of the suspect interviews went on a bit too long. The case does not get wrapped up in a nice bow. 3 1/2 stars out of 4

Suspect

I finished season 1 last year and then forgot about the series, just started season 2. The episodes are clear and concise but I'm basically reviewing season 1. The podcast starts on Halloween night in Redmond, Washington. The next day, a young woman, Aprana is found dead. There is no shortage of suspects. I liked the podcast and it kept me intrigued. By only complaint is the audio on some of the phone interviews.   3 1/2 stars out of 4 https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/e8a3c6e3-3d78-4c83-a61d-a95e70acacb0/suspect

American Scandal

Looking for a good podcast is increasingly difficult but I finally found a new one, American Scandal . Basically, it's a history lesson. 4 of 4 stars The Hare Krishna Murders. Yes it's about a murder but I learned about the history of  the Hare Krishna movement. Not as simple as a bunch of people running around in orange robes and weird haircuts. Bernie Madoff. There are many podcasts and documentaries on this subject but I loved this podcast. I always learn something new. The only thing that is not new, is greed. The Clinton-Lewinsky Affair. I avoided this one for a while but I'm already hooked. This podcast focuses on Monica. Oklahoma bombings. More details on the perpetrators. The kidnapping of Patty Hearst. I guess we will never know if she was in or out.
One Year 1995 This podcast reviews some interesting events of 1995. None of the events are related but all are interesting. Same group has also done One year 1977. Highly recommend 4 out of 4 stars

9/12 Podcast

The 9/12 podcast was a little different. The reviews are on each end of the spectrum, very good or people didn't get it. I loved the podcast because it made you think. It's very philosophical. When you listen to the first episode you will think you're listening to the wrong podcast. Give it chance. 3 1/2 of of 4 stars

Bad Blood: The final chapter

This podcast is narrated by the Wall Street journalist who broke the story of Theranos. There is only season 1 but I'm guessing season 2 will follow after the conclusion of the trail. This is a well done podcast that will keep your interest. Elizabeth Holmes is a piece of work and I'm amazed at her chutzpah. 4 out of 4 stars Bad Blood link
